Vienna Town Council in a 7-0 vote last on August 20 passed an Emergency Ordinance to Permit Temporary Waivers of Zoning Regulations and Review for Child Care Operations in Commercially Zoned Properties and for Public, Semi-Public and Private Institutions in Other Zones in Response to the Pandemic Disaster. This will give the Town Manager the ability to issue temporary emergency child day care permits for qualified applicants. To qualify under this emergency ordinance, an establishment must have a valid Business License for commercial businesses, Certificate of Occupancy, compliance with all County of Fairfax child day care regulations, and a child day care (CDC) license from the Virginia Department of Social Services. This emergency approval will automatically expire on October 18, 2020 or if otherwise extended or repealed by the Town Council.
